The ETS train service, as the fastest inter-state train service in Malaysia, has built an efficient transportation bridge between key regions such as Kuala Lumpur, Perak, and Penang, greatly promoting the interconnection among regions. Among them, the ETS3 train is the third-generation new type of meter-gauge EMU customized by CRRC Zhuzhou Electric Locomotive Co., Ltd. for Malaysia, representing advanced rail transit technology.

Beihai Communication performed excellently in this project. Taking on an important responsibility upon first entering the Malaysian market, it provided 5 major subsystems and a total of 44 types of equipment for 10 ETS3 trains, covering the train public address (PA) system, passenger information display system (PIDS), closed-circuit television (CCTV) surveillance system, passenger Wi-Fi system, and the audio and video on-demand entertainment system (AVOD). Currently, the trains are in the commissioning and testing phase.
In terms of passenger information display, a total of 4 types of LED and 4 types of LCD information display screens are installed both inside and outside the carriages. These display screens can be synchronized with the public address system, providing passengers with various travel information in a timely manner, making their journey more convenient. In terms of safety guarantee, six types of cameras conduct all-round monitoring of the situations inside and outside the carriages, ensuring the safe travel of passengers. Regarding the network experience, the train is equipped with a 4G-based public Wi-Fi system that supports adaptive switching among multiple operators and reserves room for 5G service upgrades. In addition, each business-class seat is equipped with a VEU display screen. It not only enables business-class passengers to enjoy leisure and entertainment services but also has a service call function, allowing them to contact the train attendants at any time, providing passengers with a personalized and high-quality travel experience.
