On March 22nd, local time in Mexico, the newly built vehicles of the overall modernization project of Line 1 of Mexico City Metro, which was contracted by CRRC Corporation Limited, officially started carrying passengers. This is the first time that the rubber-tyred metro trains independently developed by Chinese enterprises have been put into operation overseas. The Line 1 of Mexico City Metro, which has been in operation for half a century, welcomes the addition of new trains.
The new rubber-tyred metro trains developed by CRRC Zhuzhou Electric Locomotive Co., Ltd. are characterized by high efficiency, intelligence, energy conservation and consumption reduction. The train adopts a 9-car formation, with barrier-free through connection throughout the whole vehicle. The maximum operating speed is 80 kilometers per hour, and the passenger capacity is as high as 2,252 people. It uses a bogie with the mode of "large rubber tyres for running and small rubber tyres for steering", and is equipped with a "double insurance" of steel wheels. It has a climbing ability of 8% and the ability to pass through curves with a radius of 45 meters, which can well meet the local terrain conditions.
The brand-new passenger information system and public address system have added the function of train arrival reminder, which allows passengers to have a more intuitive understanding of the train operation time.
