Line 1 in Mexico

As an important artery of urban transportation in Mexico City, Line 1 bears a large passenger flow every day. Beihai Communication has meticulously developed a Passenger Information System (PIS) for 29 newly built trains and 10 retrofitted trains on Line 1 of Mexico City. This system consists of three major subsystems: the Train Public Address (PA) system, the Passenger Information Display System (PIDS), and the Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) system.

Industries : Urban Rail Transit
Number of vehicles : 351
Opening time : 2024-03-22

The entire set of the system is not only fully functional but also takes into full account the lightweight design requirements of the whole train. Moreover, compared with the old trains, it has added a station arrival reminder function, enabling passengers to more intuitively grasp the train arrival time, which improves the convenience of travel.

It is worth mentioning that in this project, Beihai Communication achieved the first overseas application of the passenger counting function. Passenger counting sensors are installed above each door of the train to accurately count the number of passengers boarding and alighting at each station and convert it into the total number of passengers in the carriage (with an accuracy rate of over 95%). This data is promptly transmitted to the passengers waiting on the platform through the ground PIS, effectively avoiding the uneven distribution of passenger flow and further enhancing the comfort and safety of passengers' travel.

With its stable and efficient PIS system, Beihai Communication has provided solid technical support for the smooth operation of Line 1 in Mexico, helping it take an important step in intelligent services. It has become an excellent example of local rail transit and set a benchmark for the development of other lines.
