On December 5, 2024, local time, the construction party of the railway branch line project supporting the new Luanda Airport - Dr. António Agostinho Neto International Airport and the Ministry of Transport of Angola officially signed the completion documents. The significant action of signing of the handover documents symbolize the official transition of the project from the construction phase to the operation phase.
The new railway line not only improves the transportation convenience in the area between Luanda and the new airport, but also provides convenient connections for trains in other surrounding areas. The official operation of this project is of great significance to China Jikan Research Institute of Engineering Investigation & Design Co., Ltd. (JIKAN) as well. The project construction has trained a group of professionals in overseas construction general contracting, laying a solid foundation for JIKAN to further expand its overseas construction general contracting business.
